$500 grant provides ongoing water supply for 44 people in Cambodia

Designation: Replace the pumps on 5 water wells to bring them back into working condition
Additional notes: This project took place in June & July 2016. As mentioned in previous posts, it is our intention to follow up annually to ensure maintenance is being done and that our wells will remain in working order indefinitely.

This well is repaired for Bakong Health Center. The principal and staff at the health center are happy that this well will benefit many people who needs medical health service.
This well provides water for a total of 8 people. They shared the well with their neighbors for a long time until it was broken. They tried to repair it with the neighbors but couldn’t. They are excited that the well is repaired now and they can use it. Their livelihood is difficult. They grow vegetables and sell them to make more income, but the owners are old and they live with their grandchildren. They are excited now that they well is repaired as it is easier for grandpa and grandma to fetch water.
The family of four share the well with their neighbors. The owner is a farmer but he doesn’t earn much by selling rice and vegetables that he grows on his small farm. They are happy that their well is now repaired. It will improve their health and hygiene.
This family is very poor. They don’t earn much by farming, and after rice season, they find construction work to do to make more income. The owner’s wife is also suffering from a chronic disease. They are excited to have their well repaired. This will make their life easier. They also share the well with their neighbors.
The family who owns this well makes a living by selling rice and vegetables that they grow from their small land. They also try to find other construction work to supplement their income. The family of 6 are happy that their well is repaired. They will share it with their neighbors.
